In 1876 Mr. Bell was issued a patent for his invention from the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). There were 6 documents on file for this patent. The drawing specification sheet of the patent has been reproduced on parchment paper, matted and ready to install into an 8" x 10" frame. The other 5 sheets reproduced from the USPTO documents include 1 additional drawing sheet and 4 pages which describe the scope of his invention in formal terms... "Be it known that I, Alexander Graham Bell, of Salem, Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Telegraphy, of which the following is a specification...My present invention consists in the employment of a vibratory or undulatory current of electricity in contradistinction to a merely intermittent or pulsatory current, and of a method of, and apparatus for, producing electrical undulations upon the line-wire"...
