Field phone. A cute set. Strip the green off of the outer case and have a very attractive set. Even the pointed strap hinges are a decorative plus. Part of it pulls out of the case snuggly. This is a high quality unit. The bakelite cradle is typical of the 1930s style. If you were to remove the part from the case and decorate it independently as a phone; it would be a very attractive eye catcher.

Main box for the GRSUB substaion by Northern Electric. 1947-55 intercom unit used mostly in offices in many kinds of businesses to talk from desk to desk or office to office. The material is probably hard plastic, one of the first plastics used to make such items. It is brittle like bakelite. These were sold by Graybar Electric distributors all throughout the US & Canada. Operates in a similar manner as old tube-type radios. 7x13x6” tall. As-is.

Phone appears to be made of a beautiful walnut with a metal cradle for the bakelite handset. There are several levers on the front of the instrument. About 8-1/2" tall and the base measures at approximately 9" by 6-1/2". A great office communications device. Only one partial one left (not as pictured).
