The plain fronts were the "economy" version of the wood wall phone. They were used is the less hospitable locations. Consequently these are not particularly common today. A great many more of the "short box" version have survived. These are beautiful unadorned oak. The same high quality finger joints on the box are the samr that is found the "picture frame fronts" and the "cathedral backs". These have been restored to their original condition, consequently the phone will be usable as an extension but the sound quality will be less that you would find in a modern phone. We can upgrade the wiring and hardware to make the phone completely compatible with modern phone lines.
